THE PALMS ESTATE – The land on which The Palms Estate was to be constructed was in a picturesque setting with a rainforest background in the popular family oriented suburb of Palmwoods. The land was purchased early in 2008 but was later identified by the Department of Main Roads as a potential corridor for the future alignment of the northern rail line expansion. Whist plans had been submitted to council for the development of a 72 lot residential community in this setting the project did not proceed as the land was subsequently purchased by the Department of Main Roads to preserve the land use for the proposed future rail alignment.
