About Roma
Roma is a town in the Maranoa district of South West Queensland, Australia. It is situated approximately 350km west north west (WNW) of Toowoomba and 480 km WNW of Brisbane. It is situated at the junction of the Warrego and Carnarvon highways.
The town of Roma, with an approximate population of 6,950 (Census 2011) is the dominant residential centre and acts as the region’s primary hub for commerce, education, health, transport, government, retail and financial services. Roma is the centre of a rich pastoral and wheat-growing district and is surrounded by a wealth of gas and oil reserves which provide much employment and growth opportunities for the area.
